Cousins, Mechanical Bull & Celebrities

Sunday I went with my mom and Aunt Nana to St. George to visit my sister Leslie, and to see Footloose at Tuacahn. We had a great short trip with lots of hours in the car(what did we ever do without DVD players in vehicles?) and lots of visiting. Here are some of the pictures of the cousins playing. We had Derek and Emily so the only cousin we were missing was baby Sarah. It was so fun to watch them all play.

(Mom and Aunt Nan @ Tuacahn)
My brother in law Scott told me to make sure and take $5 for the show because there was going to be something during intermission that I would want to do. He said, they bring out a mechanical bull. Well I obviously haven't lost all of my pregnancy weight yet and who wants to see an overweight mom on a mechanical bull? So I just laughed at him. We went to the show(which was amazing) and sure enough during intermission they bring out the bull. People start lining up and ride it on stage in front of the whole audience. I was not going to do it but as I sat there and thought, I knew I would regret not doing it. I have always wanted to ride a mechanical bull. I guess it's the Urban Cowgirl in me. This was probably going to be my only chance because I tend to not visit the local bars, so I decided I would do it. I pulled out my money and got in line. As I'm signing my name I'm shaking because I am so nervous. Then they announce me and I go up and I rode that bull. It was everything I had ever dreamed it to be. I was so proud of myself. I know I look horrible in the picture, but here's my proof that I did it.
Then my favorite part of the whole trip happened soon thereafter. I am an avid So You Think You Can Dance viewer. Thayne from Season 4 was Ren in Footloose. He did a great job and was so fun to watch. Well we had third row seats and I had two empty seats by me the entire first half which was really nice. Right before the second half started the people that had bought those seats showed up. I had Jolie with, so of course I had a diaper bag, blankets, burp rags, and etc. everywhere so we were trying to get it all moved. I look up and see who I'm clearing the seats for and it's Jessica from Season 4 of So You Think You Can Dance. My jaw dropped. I didn't really like her on that Season but it was still cool. The girl that was sitting by me I didn't know, but I turned around to the other empty seat and it was Katee that was also from Season 4. She was my favorite. I wanted her to win that season. Then my jaw dropped even more. So the show starts and a slow song comes on and Jolie starts to get fussy. Well the way the stage was set up, this particular scene was right by us and we had lights shining on us. It was really quiet and so I'm trying to calm Jolie down and I couldn't get up and walk out because I would've blocked the scene. I didn't want these girls to be ticked because I had this crying baby and they came all this way to see their friend so I took the easy way out, nurse her. So here I am with Jessica sitting one seat away from me, and Katee sitting behind me and I plop out my you know what and start nursing my infant child. I was so embarrassed. I was so worried what they were going to be thinking, wow this girl is a hick, right in the middle of a show she feeds her kid, seriously people still nurse their children. Remember the spotlight is shining in our direction and I'm trying to uncover myself and still keep decent. Aunt Nana is trying to cover me up so the lights don't give everyone another show. Anyway I was by this time sweating bullets trying to keep covered up and my sweet girl quiet. Well as the show goes on Jolie gets fussy again so I get up and walk out. I am at the top of the theater pacing back and forth trying to figure out what I am going to say to these girls. I wanted to talk to them and tell them I loved the show. I wanted to tell them how much I liked Katee, but I didn't want Jessica to feel bad, and I didn't want to lie and say that I liked her too when I didn't. So when curtain call comes I walk down the aisle and I'm waiting for the perfect moment. I wanted to ask if they would take a picture with Jolie, but I was so worried that they would think I was weird. Do I worry too much what people think of me or what?!? So the show is barely over and my Mom and Aunt Nan get up right away to beat the rush of people so I grab Katee's arm and I say, "Katee I just wanted you to know that you were my favorite last season and I wanted you to win so badly." She was super sweet and said thanks and that was that. I was on a celebrity high. I loved seeing her and I just kept staring the whole time. I honestly couldn't have been more excited seeing Will Smith or Brad Pitt. The only celeb that could compare would be Steve Carell. Oh what a night. Oh and by the way these girls are super tiny in real life. No wonder these boys can throw them around the stage like they weigh nothing, they really weigh nothing. Didn't I feel like a hefer. P.S. Go to youtube and watch her, type Katee and Twitch, Mercy. It's amazing.

Lookin' good on that bull lady! That is fun that you saw Katee... I saw her on their tour last year and she was amazing (I didn't see her up close and personal... we were way in the nose bleeds), but she's so good. Thursday I'm going to Season 5's tour show in Baltimore... it should be pretty fun!
