The BIG 25!!!

Today is the day my lover turns 25. What do I say about Matthew Jordon Waite other than I am the luckiest girl in the whole world. 10 reasons I'm lucky and in love.
1. I have a bit of a temper, Matt calms me down and forgives me when I act a bit absurd(this is a huge deal, not just anyone can do this).
2. He laughs at my stupid jokes most of the time.
3. He still thinks I'm beautiful, even when I don't get ready, and when my breath stinks.
4. He never leaves without saying family prayer and giving me a kiss.
5. Every Friday he takes Jayden for a couple of hours so I can have ME time.
6. He loves my crazy family.
7. He teaches me how to be kind and that sometimes the things you want to say, aren't always the best(basically to bite my tongue).
8. He is the best kisser, cuddler, and everything else 'er in the world.
9. He works so hard so that we can accomplish our goals.
10. He is sweet to me all the time, even when I don't deserve it.
These are just a few of the reasons why I love him so much. Happy Birthday Babe. Here's to many more quarters of a century.

What? There's Poop On My Back?!?

So Jayden has always hated getting his diaper changed and his clothes changed. He does horrible when I do it, but even worse when Matt has to change him. For example, yesterday it was Matt's turn to change his diaper and Jayden happened to be poopy(I don't think that's even a real word). I was out of the room for some reason so a little while later I went out and I was sitting by Matt. Matt leaned forward and I looked at the couch, and there was something on it. So me being stupid I touched it to see what it was. Oh well then I smelt it because that's what I do and my suspicions were confirmed. Yep, it was a poopy cranberry from Jayden's diaper. He just swallows them whole. So then I said to Matt, this was on your back. Then I looked at his shirt and sure enough poop was on his shirt. Matt freaked out. It was hilarious. How did Matt or Jayden get put on Matt's back. Then this morning it happened to be his turn again. I come in and there's poop on my sheets and half of the diaper wipes are gone. I love how my husband helps me. I thought I would just share my story with you. This picture is just a random poopy one. Thank goodness for breast fed babies.

Sweet Dreams

I have always wondered what babies dream about. Haven't you? Well on Conference Sunday, Jayden fell asleep on Matt's lap and off he went. He was laughing and smiling so I'm assuming it was a good dream. I think he was telling his brothers and sisters in heaven on what a crazy family he came to(Matt thinks I'm retarded though when I say things like that). Or maybe he was seeing thousands of coke bottles floating around and got so excited. Or maybe he was reading his favorite books, "That's not my Dinosaur" or "That's not my Train". I don't know what he was really dreaming about, but I sure wish I was there.

In the words of Dash, "I love my family."

So one of my favorite lines in the Incredibles is when Dash falls back on the limo seat and says "I love my family." That is how I feel every day. I am so lucky to live close to two of my brothers right now. I love it. John is only a few miles away, and I get to see him pretty much every week. Darrell is a couple rooms away, so I have to see him every day, but I still love it. This past Saturday we went over to John & Aimee's pool. I love being outside(basically so I can get a tan). I wish the rest of my family could have been there. Here are a few pictures of that day. John is such a good uncle to Jayden, and Matt is such a good dad to get in even though his nipples get cold.

Frustrated

So I have two callings in our ward. I am having a great time with one, but the other I am having a little difficulty with. I am posting this because I need some advice and I'm venting. I am the den leader for the bears in Cub Scouts. I have been really excited about it, but last night was my first real night to do the activity, and nobody showed. Well I shouldn't say that. Someone came but 40 minutes late. The scouting program combines all the wards in our building and I still only have three boys. I need some advice on what I can do to get these boys to come. Help!!!

So Good!!!

I love to cook. I have gotten a lot of really great recipes from Martha Stewart. This one has been my favorite so far. Any of you reading should try it. It's so good.
Creamy Fusilli with Yellow Squash and Bacon
Ingredients
Coarse salt and ground pepper
8 ounces fusilli
4 slices bacon, sliced crosswise into 1/2-inch strips
4 medium yellow squash (8 ounces each), quartered lengthwise and thinly sliced crosswise
2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup grated Asiago cheese, plus more for serving
Directions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta, and cook until al dente, according to package instructions. Reserve 1 cup pasta water; drain pasta, and return to pot.
While pasta is cooking, heat a large skillet over medium. Add bacon, and cook until browned and crisp, 5 to 7 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain (leave bacon fat in skillet).
Place skillet over medium-high heat. Add squash and garlic to fat in skillet; season with salt and pepper, and toss well. Cover, and cook, stirring occasionally, until squash begins to soften, 5 to 7 minutes. Uncover, and continue to cook until liquid is evaporated and squash is tender, 2 to 3 minutes more.
Add cream and cooked pasta to skillet; toss well, and cook until cream begins to thicken. Remove from heat; stir in Asiago, and add enough reserved pasta water to create a sauce that coats pasta. Serve topped with reserved bacon and more cheese.

"Bumped His Head"

I love having a boy, but I sure hope this kid survives. I swear people must think I abuse him because he always has something wrong with his face. Whether it's a bruise, cuts, or bumps, it's always something. This particular bumped swelled up in literally a matter of 10 seconds.

Saguaro Park

Bedroom Eyes

So Jayden is so cute I sometimes can't take it. I'm like an Italian Momma already. I call these his bedroom eyes. Are they not so cute? Can't you just see him flashing these and all the girls going crazy? Please make it stop. I want him to stay mine forever.

Older and Wiser

Jayden is 11 Months old today. For fun we went to a park over here in Glendale where they are having a rose display. It's a great park. They have chickens, roosters, and peacocks running a muck. Jayden wasn't so fond of the animals noises though. He would not let us put him down. He's like his mom and dad in the way that it takes him awhile to get comfortable, plus he's really sensitive. I wonder who he gets that from.
