Frustrated

So I have two callings in our ward. I am having a great time with one, but the other I am having a little difficulty with. I am posting this because I need some advice and I'm venting. I am the den leader for the bears in Cub Scouts. I have been really excited about it, but last night was my first real night to do the activity, and nobody showed. Well I shouldn't say that. Someone came but 40 minutes late. The scouting program combines all the wards in our building and I still only have three boys. I need some advice on what I can do to get these boys to come. Help!!!

Hey Ty use to be that too before we moved to the valley and he HATED it! It was really hard and no one ever came! So I thought of an idea for him and I made some cute invitations on our comp. and we had a "get to know you" bbq thing. It wasnt huge but it got a lot of boys to come and ever since then he had a good show!

It's a hard calling. I'm the girls activities director (I don't know the official title) in the Primary. It was hard to get them to come out at first. I agree with Kamry. Start off with a get to know you and a few fun things. I know you have a more structured program than I do and have badges and stuff to do - on those days, try to incorporate a fun little something into it. If you need any ideas, let me know.

Katie- one time I had this great family that was progressing! My comp and I planned this huge Ward activity and for 1 month, 4 sundays before hand we announced this activity in church. When the day came, the family that we were teaching was there and NOBODY ELSE! Not the bishop, elders quorum, Relief society, nobody!! So after an hour of being there, having set up the activities and booths for different games for the kids. My comp and I took everything down and we took the family home. After dropping the family off and walking towards our pensionistas house we were intercepted in the street by the Relief Society President. She served a mission and everything! Anyway, she walked straight up to me and HIT ME! I WAS SHOCKED!! She called me some bad words and said that she had just come from the church and we hadn't been there. I quickly raised the Flyer/invitation that we had given the whole ward and it clearly stated at 7p.m. was the activity and this lady had arrived at 8:30! I told her alittle about the parable of the ten virgens and she did NOT like that, so we left. Just do YOUR part with a whole hearted effort! I am glad to find your blog! Its great to see your family grow!
