Listen to the Wife

So Matt goes to the gym everyday which is fine. Well today I wanted him to stay home because I just didn't think he needed to be going. He went to the gym anyway because he feels like he's been wasting away. Ha ha ha. About an hour later I get a phone call from him saying he's locker was broken into and one of his debit cards was stolen. Usually no big deal because you just call and cancel your card. Annoying but not the end of the world. There have been many times when I have asked Matt not to go somewhere, he does, and then something bad happens. For example, 2 years ago when he busted his knee for the second time. I asked him not to go, he went, and he got hurt. Then eight weeks later he felt he was all healed up he went to play. I asked him to stay, he went, then I got a call saying I needed to go pick him up because he really blew it out this time. Then about a week ago he went to the gym, before doctor's orders to ride the bike. No big deal but I didn't want him to go. Well he comes back and tells me he lifted some dumb bells and that night he was hurting. When is he going to listen to me? These are just a few examples of why my husband should listen to me. It's called a woman's intuition babe.

Back Home

I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately with everything going on and I've been wanting to go back to Snowflake for the 12 Days of Christmas. Matt had a lot of studying to do last week for finals and so it was a perfect time for me to get away and for him to study without distractions. Jayden and I got to go up to Snowflake on Wednesday just in time for my amazing Mom's Apron display in the Pioneer Homes. It was so neat to see all of the different types of aprons. She probably gathered over 100 from different people and not one was the same. My Mom is really involved in the community and so we were really busy the whole time there. My Mom, Dad and Jeanie all participated in the town's Christmas Spectacular and so that was so fun to watch. Mom and Dad were so cute in the dance they performed and Jeanie did a great job dancing with the cheerleaders. I've been begging Jeanie to try out for cheer because I know she would love it and so hopefully this experience maybe would have decided things for her. Watching my parents and sister dance I cried like a Proud Momma. My Dad has lost some weight recently and looked so good dancing up on stage in his costume, and My Mom was as impressive as ever with her high kicks. Jeanie was too cute in her costume and Jayden got so excited every time he saw her. It was so much fun. The weather was beautiful and I got to relax, even though it seems like we didn't stop. I know many people hate Snowflake, and I know there's a lot of wonderful places out there, but Snowflake will always be my home. There is just something about the love you feel from family, neighbors, and the community. It's a sense of belonging that I will always have. Snowflake has a beautiful Main Street and the Heritage Committee really puts in a lot of work to make people feel welcome and that there is something to do during this wonderful time of year. Someday oh someday how I wish to live there and serve as both my parents serve. Of course Steve Reel was there and Matt said if someone had told him 6 years ago (when we were in High School, him in Show Low, me in Snowflake) that Steve Reel would be tickling his son, he would have never believed them. Gotta love the Snowflake.
Oh and here's the cake I made for My Mom's birthday.

More Nonsense

Matt has been bugging me about updating our blog so here it goes. Nothing really exciting has been going on so I'm just going to play catch up. We spent Thanksgiving in Tucson with The Waite's. Jayden was running a high fever and had an allergic reaction from his vaccines so needless to say it wasn't that exciting.
Matt and Tyler went to the car show in Phoenix after Thanksgiving on Saturday. This is the real reason why Matt wants me to post. He wants me to put pictures up of him in cool cars. I'm glad he had a good time and now has something else to occupy his mind.Matt with The Corvette. The forever loved Aston Martin. The R8And last but not least The Challenger.
Also as you can tell Matt has been trying to grow out his facial hair since he had surgery. I love Matt clean shaven(sic). He has the softest skin and he is so handsome when he shaves. Thanks to B Holliday he has had an excuse to grow it out, plus he is always asking me if he can grow a beard. I just don't see him as a bearded mountain man type of guy. Oh well if it makes him happy I guess.
