Christmas Project

Designed and Made by Matthew Waite(with help of Gary Brimhall). Over Christmas Break Matt wanted a project to do so while we were in Snowflake this was it. Many many hours and many many trips to Lowe's this is what came out. Someday when he gets his 52" TV this is where it will go, until then it sits in our house. For his first piece he did amazingly well.

Even If One

I just finished this book of my sister in laws. My Mom found it in the summer for her to read, my sister has read it, and now I've finished it. We have all been changed by it. Sorry Leslie and Kendra I'm speaking for you. I just couldn't not say something because I am sure there are many more parents out there worried about the education of their children. So to any of you who are curious about what I'm talking about, read this book. I don't feel like I am at all an educated person, but now I can be and I am so excited to change. Even if one person reads it, it will make me happy. If you can't find it at your public library, I'll lend you mine. It's called A Thomas Jefferson Education: Teaching a Generation of Leaders for the Twenty-first Century, by Oliver Van DeMille.

I Love This Day

So I love Valentines and I always have. Not because I ever even had a Valentine until I met Matt, but just because I love it. I loved making Valentines in Elementary School, and sending Valentine Grams in Jr. High, and feeling like a loser in High School because you knew you weren't going to get anything. But then you would from someone like your friends or someone that was a secret. It's always been fun and exciting and beautiful. This year was probably the best yet. I made Valentine goodies for my family and got to spend Saturday morning with them. Then my sweet husband gave me 4 dozen different flowers and I loved it. He also bought me a nightstand for our bed which we have been saying we were going to get forever. I never would have gotten it because I have a fear of spending money, but he never lets me go without want. He's too sweet. I just thought I would express the love I have for that day.

It's Time

So for my Saturday chore background music/noise I put in the good old classic, You've Got Mail. As I'm standing in my kitchen listening to the whitty dialogue and the references to the classics like Godfather and Pride and Prejudice, I'm thinking man I miss this. Then I thought to myself is this really the last Tom Hanks movie that I thoroughly enjoyed and can watch over and over again. Surely not because I love Tom Hanks as an actor. So not being able to think of a movie of his that I have enjoyed as much as this, I take myself over to good old imdb.com and look it up. As I scroll down the many movies I see movies like The Da Vinci Code, Catch Me If You Can, Castaway, and none can compare. They were all okay, but none of them would I ever turn on just to watch or listen to. So I am posting this to let everyone and especially Tom Hanks(in case he reads this) that it's time for another You've Got Mail. We've missed you and IT'S TIME!!!

Busy Boys

Now I'll take a second to brag about my husband. In the last few months my husband has become quite the handyman. I grew up with a Dad that did basically everything around the house, so when we got married and Matt didn't know how to fix cars or put in a ceiling fan or drive a loader, it was well different for me. I'm not complaining but it was just something that I wasn't used to. Well now Matt has fixed the focus which in turn is saving us a lot of money in repairs. He with the help of my Dad has put in a ceiling fan, built an entertainment center, and can do many more things. I've been quite impressed with his desire to learn and do different things lately and I am so grateful. Plus, Jayden loves to help or watch and get in the way. While Matt was washing the car a few weeks ago Jayden wanted to be just like him so I got a wash cloth and put a rubberband around his wrist to keep it on so he could be just like Dad. I'm so glad that my son will grow up with great examples of hard working men in his life. It makes a girl proud.

So since Thanksgiving we have been non stop traveling, visiting family and just being busy. We have now been home for an entire week without going anywhere. We are getting back into our routine slowly but surely. I just wanted to take a minute to talk(brag) about Jayden. I know as a Mom you think your kids are probably the best, but I know that mine really is. While in Snowflake we don't really have to do anything to Jayden because he just plays and wants to be with Grandpa or Grandma or Jeanie and he just doesn't want us. He gets to ride around with grandpa in the loader, drink coke, and is just spoiled rotten. I guess we're too boring or something. So naturally I dread the time when we come home and get back to our own thing. I worried for nothing this time. We came home and now he's sleeping better, eating better, acting better, more loving, doing cuter things, talking more. I love it. He's finally taking 2 hour long naps and I am so grateful for that. He is sleeping from 8 at night to 7 in the morning, sometimes later which I love. He used to get up so early(5:30), plus he's just too cute. I love my boy and I could go on and on about him but I won't. Matt and I know we are so spoiled and so for you Mom's who are jealous of me for the adorable man child we call Jayden, you should be : )

I've Joined the Club

So I am now apart of the Loser Blogger Club. I can't believe it has been a month since I have posted anything. We are all alive, but nothing exciting has really happened. I will promise to post soon of our new and not so exciting adventures. Congrats to all those Momma's who have had babies recently. Kamry, Ashleigh, Jessica and whomever else, you are amazing.
